The story follows Dewey Finn, an enthusiastic but struggling rock musician who poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school after being kicked out of his band. Initially uninterested in teaching, Dewey discovers that his students are musically talented and decides to turn the class into a rock band to compete in a local “Battle of the Bands.”
As Dewey helps his students break free from their rigid academic routines, they learn the importance of self-expression, teamwork, and confidence. Meanwhile, Dewey himself matures and learns responsibility while staying true to his love for rock music. Filled with energetic songs, humor, and heartfelt moments, School of Rock: The Musical celebrates the power of music to inspire change, challenge authority, and bring people together.
